Name: Martin Jensen
Birthday: October 2nd, 1983
I started my triathlon career in 2006 after swimming on a national level for several years. In 2008 I qualified for ITU LD World Championships and won a bronze medal in my first attempt on the distance. I managed to defend that medal in 2009, as well as winning the Danish LD Championships.
2010 saw me winning the silver medal at the ETU LD Championships and coming 2nd in my first ever race on the Ironman distance at Ironman Louisville.
On October 9th I had my debut at Ironman Hawaii and finished in 18th place with a sub 3hr marathon.
In 2013 I had my first overall win in an Ironman at Ironman Japan, only 6 weeks after my first win in an Ironman 70.3.
Besides my life as a pro triathlete I have a bachelors degree in environmental engineering, but has put the studies on standby to focus on my career in triathlon. I live in the Danish city of Aalborg with my girlfriend Mette who takes very good care of me when I’m not away travelling for camps og races.
